Enterprise CIOs Plan Modest IT Spending Increase in 2005, Says Forrester Research Forrester Research - December 20, 2004 Forrester Research reports that CIOs at North American and European enterprises plan to increase their IT spending by 3.9 percent in 2005, based on its latest survey of 1,368 IT decision-makers.
Applications are the top budget priority in 2005. Fifty-nine percent of decision-makers surveyed identified deployment or upgrade of major packaged applications as a priority; many will use application integration and outsourcing services. The analysts say the findings re-affirm their earlier forecast for a 7 percent increase in overall North American IT spending in 2005. The 7 percent forecast includes small/medium business and additional enterprise spending outside IT departments.
